Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work At Alphington by Walter Withers. The price achieved of AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,401.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Withers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Farmer'S Girl in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 221,075.00 (€ 135,896.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit At Alphington von Walter Withers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.690,00 (€ 2.401,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Withers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Farmer'S Girl im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 221.075,00 (€ 135.896,05).
