Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle Amongst The Gums by Walter Withers was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The price achieved of AUD 7,170.00 (€ 4,312.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Withers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Farmer'S Girl in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 221,075.00 (€ 135,896.05).

Die Arbeit Cattle Amongst The Gums von Walter Withers kam im April 2006 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 7.170,00 (€ 4.312,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Withers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Farmer'S Girl im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 221.075,00 (€ 135.896,05).
