Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunshine and showers, Ilkley, Yorkshire by Walter Wallor Caffyn was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,493.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Wallor Caffyn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fittleworth Lock on the Rother, Sussex in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 22,350.24).
