Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ROOM by Walter Swennen was auctioned at Sothebys in Cologne in June last year. The price achieved of EUR 11,340.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Swennen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Beer) (Untitled (Bear)), which sold at auction in November 2020 for EUR 40,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit ROOM von Walter Swennen kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Köln zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 11.340,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Swennen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Beer) (Untitled (Bear)) beobachtet, die im November 2020 für EUR 40.000,00 versteigert wurde.
