Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Dutch Interior by Walter MacEwen was sold in the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in May 2005. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 38,400.00 (€ 31,095.64). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter MacEwen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl Standing with Book, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 82,250.00 (€ 86,170.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Dutch Interior von Walter MacEwen wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 38.400,00 (€ 31.095,64) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter MacEwen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl Standing with Book beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 82.250,00 (€ 86.170,77) versteigert wurde.
