Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Whistler, Battersea Bridge beyond by Walter Greaves for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,073.86). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Greaves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work James Abbott McNeill Whistler on the Widow's Walk at his House in Lindsey Row, Chelsea in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 59,750.00 (€ 85,864.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Whistler, Battersea Bridge beyond von Walter Greaves für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.073,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Greaves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit James Abbott McNeill Whistler on the Widow's Walk at his House in Lindsey Row, Chelsea im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.750,00 (€ 85.864,00).
