The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,644.90), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter Gay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Salon des Aigles, Hotel Crillon, Paris in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 45,410.00 (€ 50,444.35).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.644,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Gay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Salon des Aigles, Hotel Crillon, Paris im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.410,00 (€ 50.444,35).
