Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (BEY 82 Soldiers III, 1982-2004) (From the series We Decided to Let Them Say "We Are Convinced" Twice) by Walid Raad was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart II auction at Christies in Dubai in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,962.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Walid Raad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scratching On Things I Could Disavow (Parts 2-5) in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,390.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (BEY 82 Soldiers III, 1982-2004) (From the series We Decided to Let Them Say "We Are Convinced" Twice) von Walid Raad wurde im Oktober 2011 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart II bei Christies in Dubai versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.962,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walid Raad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scratching On Things I Could Disavow (Parts 2-5) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.390,97).
