Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian, which included the work Scratching On Things I Could Disavow Part 2 & Part 3 by Walid Raad. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,699.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walid Raad - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scratching On Things I Could Disavow (Parts 2-5), which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,390.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scratching On Things I Could Disavow Part 2 & Part 3 von Walid Raad zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.699,56) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Walid Raad mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scratching On Things I Could Disavow (Parts 2-5) beobachtet, die im April 2015 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.390,97) versteigert wurde.
