In April 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A Rest Along The Way by W. Richards. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 573.60 (€ 515.34), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by W. Richards - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A peaceful cottage by a river; and A tranquil cottage by a lake, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 812.50 (€ 1,166.80).

Im April 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Rest Along The Way von W. Richards zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 573,60 (€ 515,34) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von W. Richards mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A peaceful cottage by a river; and A tranquil cottage by a lake beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 812,50 (€ 1.166,80) versteigert wurde.
