Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A figure by a lakeside cottage; and Another similar by W. Richards was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in June 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 423.00 (€ 654.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by W. Richards have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2007 the work A peaceful cottage by a river; and A tranquil cottage by a lake was auctioned for GBP 812.50 (€ 1,166.80).
