Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Fishermen By The Volga by Vladimir Makovsky was sold in the Including the Bar-Gera Collection of Soviet Non-Conformist Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2016. The auction ended at the price of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vladimir Makovsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Rag Market In Moscow in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,329,250.00 (€ 1,607,163.15).
