Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work French On The Beach by Virginie Demont-Breton for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,211.72). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Virginie Demont-Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Femme De Pêcheur Venant De Baigner Ses Enfants in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 543,000.00 (€ 477,194.83).
