Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled, circa 1966 by Viola Frey for USD 484.50 (€ 431.55). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art & Editions Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viola Frey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Talking Hands, circa 1989 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 110,075.00 (€ 93,936.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled, circa 1966 von Viola Frey für USD 484,50 (€ 431,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art & Editions Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Viola Frey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Talking Hands, circa 1989 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.075,00 (€ 93.936,68).
