Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Viola Frey could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Discovery on Sunset auction, the work Brown Glaze Plate, Celadon Bowl and Brown Glaze Plate changed hands for USD 166.40 (€ 152.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viola Frey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Talking Hands, circa 1989 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 110,075.00 (€ 93,936.68).
