The work Untitled (charger), 1988 by Viola Frey was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,050.11), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viola Frey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Talking Hands, circa 1989 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 110,075.00 (€ 93,936.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (charger), 1988 von Viola Frey wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.375,00 (€ 6.050,11) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Viola Frey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Talking Hands, circa 1989 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.075,00 (€ 93.936,68).
