Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work The Madonna and Child with Saint Catherine of Alexandria by Vincent Malo the Elder. The price achieved of GBP 9,562.50 (€ 10,795.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vincent Malo the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Continence De Scipion, which sold at auction in May last year for EUR 30,240.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna and Child with Saint Catherine of Alexandria von Vincent Malo the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 10.795,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Vincent Malo the Elder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Continence De Scipion beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für EUR 30.240,00 versteigert wurde.
