Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seascape with the frigate “Jylland” at high sea by Vilhelm Victor Bille was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 7,000.00 (€ 938.49). Admittedly, works by Vilhelm Victor Bille have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A sailing boat in a gathering storm, a frigate and other boats beyond in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,707.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Seascape with the frigate “Jylland” at high sea von Vilhelm Victor Bille im September diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 7.000,00 (€ 938,49) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vilhelm Victor Bille auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A sailing boat in a gathering storm, a frigate and other boats beyond im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.707,36).
