Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Conservatives on the council have long advocated an imaginative redevelopment scheme for Piccadilly Circus" by Victor Weisz was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 37.60 (€ 59.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Weisz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Winston Churchill Is Conquering The House in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,700.30).
