In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Christ Exchanging His Heart With Saint Catherine by Ventura Salimbeni. The result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,475.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ventura Salimbeni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St Clare Repulsing The Saracens From Assisi, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 193,000.00 (€ 130,045.15).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ Exchanging His Heart With Saint Catherine von Ventura Salimbeni zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.475,39) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ventura Salimbeni mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit St Clare Repulsing The Saracens From Assisi beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 193.000,00 (€ 130.045,15) versteigert wurde.
