Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A nude seen from behind, three-quarter-length by Ventura Salimbeni was sold in the OLD MASTER AND 19TH CENTURY DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in July 2002. The price achieved of GBP 3,824.00 (€ 6,099.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ventura Salimbeni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Clare Repulsing The Saracens From Assisi in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 193,000.00 (€ 130,045.15).
