Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 900,000.00 – 1,400,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 965,000.00 (€ 1,075,039.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 4,092,500.00 (€ 3,464,403.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 900.000,00 – 1.400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 965.000,00 (€ 1.075.039,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 4.092.500,00 (€ 3.464.403,62) versteigert wurde.
