In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Drawing 2) sold for USD 112,500.00 (€ 95,234.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,092,500.00 (€ 3,464,403.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde erzielte im September 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Drawing 2) für USD 112.500,00 (€ 95.234,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.092.500,00 (€ 3.464.403,62).
