Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With Fish by U Ngwe Gaing was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. The price achieved of HKD 214,200.00 (€ 22,933.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 180,000.00 – 260,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by U Ngwe Gaing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).

Die Arbeit Still Life With Fish von U Ngwe Gaing kam im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 214.200,00 (€ 22.933,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 180.000,00 – 260.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von U Ngwe Gaing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elephants And Trucks With Logs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09) versteigert wurde.
