Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flowers On Branches by U Ngwe Gaing was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. It changed hands for a price of HKD 138,600.00 (€ 15,351.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by U Ngwe Gaing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Flowers On Branches von U Ngwe Gaing wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 138.600,00 (€ 15.351,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von U Ngwe Gaing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elephants And Trucks With Logs im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09).
