Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included the work Scene from the Town by U Ngwe Gaing. The price achieved of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,216.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by U Ngwe Gaing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scene from the Town von U Ngwe Gaing zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.216,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von U Ngwe Gaing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elephants And Trucks With Logs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09) versteigert wurde.
