Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Morning Session), which included the work Port Scene by U Ngwe Gaing. The price achieved of HKD 237,500.00 (€ 27,181.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by U Ngwe Gaing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Morning Session) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Port Scene von U Ngwe Gaing zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 237.500,00 (€ 27.181,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 220.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von U Ngwe Gaing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elephants And Trucks With Logs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09) versteigert wurde.
