Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Maung Magan Beach, South Of Myanmar, Dawei by U Ngwe Gaing. It changed hands for a price of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,651.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by U Ngwe Gaing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maung Magan Beach, South Of Myanmar, Dawei von U Ngwe Gaing zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.651,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von U Ngwe Gaing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elephants And Trucks With Logs im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09).
