Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Hauling Bamboo by U Ngwe Gaing for HKD 9,999.83 (€ 1,177.52). This price was achieved in the auction Ritual + Culture OnlineFine Southeast Asian Arts at Bonhams in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by U Ngwe Gaing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Hauling Bamboo von U Ngwe Gaing für HKD 9.999,83 (€ 1.177,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Ritual + Culture OnlineFine Southeast Asian Arts bei Bonhams in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von U Ngwe Gaing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elephants And Trucks With Logs im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09).
