Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Great Shwedagon Pagoda by U Ngwe Gaing was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. The price achieved of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 36,994.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 260,000.00 – 380,000.00. Other works by U Ngwe Gaing have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2017 the work Elephants And Trucks With Logs was auctioned for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
