Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Toyohara Chikanobu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,513.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Toyohara Chikanobu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scenes of beauties and farm life in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,763.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Toyohara Chikanobu wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.513,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Toyohara Chikanobu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scenes of beauties and farm life im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.763,12).
