Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Toyohara Chikanobu was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,572.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Toyohara Chikanobu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenes of beauties and farm life, which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,763.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Toyohara Chikanobu kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.572,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Toyohara Chikanobu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scenes of beauties and farm life beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.763,12) versteigert wurde.
