Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tony Wong could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Figure and Form: Modern Art Featuring Bridging Generations, Property from an Important Southeast Asian Private Museum auction, the work Broken Sky changed hands for HKD 35,280.00 (€ 3,922.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony Wong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chameleon in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 463,500.00 (€ 40,518.38).
