Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Man with Straight Mouth (Tp 622), 1949 by Tony Tuckson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 8,610.00 (€ 7,628.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tony Tuckson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Red, Black And White) in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 89,625.00 (€ 52,900.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man with Straight Mouth (Tp 622), 1949 von Tony Tuckson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 8.610,00 (€ 7.628,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tony Tuckson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Red, Black And White) im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 89.625,00 (€ 52.900,83).
