The »bidding war« ended at USD 106,250.00 (€ 91,045.42), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tony Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work For J.C. in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 530,500.00 (€ 369,017.81).
