It achieved a price of EUR 277,200.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tony Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot For J.C. sold at auction in May 2011 with the realized price of USD 530,500.00 (€ 369,017.81).
