Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work You Who Are Looking-- What Are You Looking At After The Tsunami by Tomoko Konoike was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 32,322.36). Admittedly, works by Tomoko Konoike have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chapter Three "Wreck" in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,060,000.00 (€ 214,010.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit You Who Are Looking-- What Are You Looking At After The Tsunami von Tomoko Konoike im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 32.322,36) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tomoko Konoike auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chapter Three "Wreck" im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.060.000,00 (€ 214.010,83).
