Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Composition by Tomas Rajlich was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at EUR 21,250.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tomas Rajlich; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sans titre sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of EUR 40,320.00.
Kunstwerk zum Siebenfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Composition von Tomas Rajlich im Juni 2019 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 21.250,00 mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tomas Rajlich; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sans titre im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 40.320,00.
