Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tom Sachs could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Untitled (Albers) changed hands for USD 25,400.00 (€ 23,840.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Sachs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiffany Value Meal in May last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tom Sachs konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Albers) für USD 25.400,00 (€ 23.840,81) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Sachs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tiffany Value Meal im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39).
