Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hello Kitty by Tom Sachs was sold in the Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,620.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Sachs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiffany Value Meal in May last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hello Kitty von Tom Sachs wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Prints & Multiples bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.620,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Sachs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tiffany Value Meal im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39).
