Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chchchoad by Tom Sachs was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,455.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Sachs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiffany Value Meal in May last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chchchoad von Tom Sachs kam im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.455,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Sachs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tiffany Value Meal im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39).
