Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Holly Street Tower Block Project Series: Residents of Cedar Court by Tom Hunter was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 535.50 (€ 473.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Hunter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Reading A Possession Order in March 2016 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,782.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Holly Street Tower Block Project Series: Residents of Cedar Court von Tom Hunter im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 535,50 (€ 473,14) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Hunter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Reading A Possession Order im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.782,48).
