Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,789.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Edwin Mostyn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green and gold dress in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 40,240.55).
