Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work A Shared Confidence by Thomas Edwin Mostyn. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,066.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Edwin Mostyn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green and gold dress in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 40,240.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Shared Confidence von Thomas Edwin Mostyn zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.066,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Edwin Mostyn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green and gold dress im September 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 40.240,55).
