Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tom Coates could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in September 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British and Irish Art auction, the work Late Afternoon Ride changed hands for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,655.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Tom Coates have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2007 by the work Street Scene, Florence at GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,986.07).
