Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A figure on a sandy track before a coastal cottage by Tom Clough. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 705.00 (€ 1,138.27), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tom Clough have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Monarchs of the Beechwood in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,320.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A figure on a sandy track before a coastal cottage von Tom Clough zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.138,27) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Clough auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Monarchs of the Beechwood im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.320,41).
