Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection, which included the work Edward Weston with Camera by Tina Modotti. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,319.44) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tina Modotti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
