Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mental Door by Tim Lokiec was sold in the Under the Influence auction at Phillips in New York in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,125.00 (€ 1,977.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tim Lokiec - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spiked Driftwood with Colorwave, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 10,200.00 (€ 7,581.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mental Door von Tim Lokiec wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Under the Influence bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.125,00 (€ 1.977,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Tim Lokiec mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spiked Driftwood with Colorwave beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 10.200,00 (€ 7.581,95) versteigert wurde.
