Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Set of Six Compositions by Tim Bavington was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 1,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,529.18). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tim Bavington; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Wayward #1 sold at auction in March 2012 with the realized price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,311.98).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Set of Six Compositions von Tim Bavington im September 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 1.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.529,18) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tim Bavington; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Wayward #1 im März 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.311,98).
