Auction result misses estimated price range
In February this year a collector was able to acquire the work Moonlight, Santa Barbara (Mission Courtyard) by Thorwald Probst for USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,142.47). This price was achieved in the auction Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Thorwald Probst have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December last year by the work Sunset, Grand Canyon 16 x 20 in. framed 25 x 29 in. at USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,310.99).

Im Februar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Moonlight, Santa Barbara (Mission Courtyard) von Thorwald Probst für USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.142,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Andere Arbeiten von Thorwald Probst wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres die Arbeit Sunset, Grand Canyon 16 x 20 in. framed 25 x 29 in. mit USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.310,99).
